Move a Personal Account to a Practice Group Account

In Plumb's, you can move your existing personal subscription to your practice's or employer's group account by accepting an invitation from the group admin sent to the email address connected to your personal account. Your notes and favorites transfer with you, and your personal account is automatically canceled.

Note: This article covers Plumb's accounts. For Standards of Care, see Join a Standards of Care Group Account.

Before you begin

  • Your practice or employer must already have a Plumb's group account. If it does not, see Plumb's: Create a Group Account.

  • Confirm the email address you currently use to sign in to your personal account.

  • Group administrators send group invitations; you cannot request an invite through Plumb’s.

Join a group account as an existing individual subscriber

  1. Confirm your personal account’s email address: Sign in to your account at app.plumbs.com and make note of the email address you use.

  2. Tell your group admin the exact email address on your personal account and ask them to send the invitation to it.

  3. Open the invitation email from [email protected]. If you do not see it, check your junk or spam folder.

  4. Click Accept Invitation.

After you accept, you can change the email address on the account if you prefer.

Invitations are valid for 7 days. For admin steps on inviting users, see Getting Started for Group Admins.

Warning: If you accept the invitation using a different email address than the one used for your personal account, you will lose access to the notes and favorites in your original account and will not receive a refund.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the unused part of my personal subscription?

Your personal account automatically cancels when you join, and you can get a partial refund prorated for the remaining time in your billing cycle. To ensure a smooth transition, make sure your group admin sends the invitation to the email address currently associated with your Plumb’s account. For more details, see Plumb's: Join a Group Account.

Do I need to cancel my personal account first?

No. If the invitation goes to your existing email address, your personal account is canceled automatically, and the system will initiate a refund for any unused portion of your personal subscription.

Can I convert my own account into a group account instead?
