Manage Your Standards of Care Subscription and Billing

In Standards of Care, you can subscribe, check your plan details, update billing, and cancel your subscription directly from your account. This article covers the self-serve steps and where to go when a change needs support's help.

Subscribe to Standards of Care

Standards of Care was formerly known as Plumb's Pro. This rebranding includes all the features of Plumb's Pro, along with additional clinical decision support tools.

Tip: If you're subscribing as a student and you see an "Invalid organization" error or the page appears stuck, refresh and re-enter your school name. If the issue continues, contact support.

  1. Create an account with your email and a secure password.

  2. Select the number of users you'd like to purchase access for.

  3. Enter your payment details and confirm your purchase.

You'll receive a confirmation email and can start using your subscription immediately.

Check your subscription details

  1. Sign in to your account at standards.instinctvet.com.

  2. Click My Account in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Subscription Details.

Your current plan, renewal date, and billing information are listed here.

Change or upgrade your plan

To add users to your plan:

  1. Sign in to your account and go to My Account → Subscription Details.

  2. Click Add More Users.

  3. Choose your new number of users.

  4. Review your plan details and click Confirm Purchase.

Note: Changing your plan resets your renewal date to align with the purchase date of the new plan.

If your account is part of a group or corporate plan, you may not see an option to upgrade to Standards of Care. Group subscriptions are managed by the organization, and some plans may only include the regular Plumb's subscription. To subscribe individually, request removal from the group account and sign up for an individual subscription using a different email address if needed.

Downgrade or reduce your plan

To move to a lower-tier plan:

  1. Go to Subscription Details and select Cancel Renewal to stop your current plan from auto-renewing.

  2. Your current plan stays active through the end of the billing period you've already paid for.

  3. Once it expires, sign back in and subscribe to the lower-tier plan.

To reduce the number of licenses on a team plan, contact support at [email protected]—license reductions require manual adjustment and can't currently be done self-serve.

View and download invoices

  1. Sign in to your account and go to My Account → Subscription Details.

  2. Scroll to Billing History and click Open PDF next to the invoice you need.

If the PDF link returns an error, or you need an invoice emailed to you, contact support via the chat icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, or email [email protected].

Update your payment method

  1. Sign in to your account and go to Subscription Details.

  2. Click Edit Details in the Payment Details section.

  3. Enter your new card details and save your changes.

If your payment is declined or you see a checkout error, confirm that your card number, expiration date, and CVV match your card information, then try a different browser or clear your cache and cookies before trying again. Contact support for further assistance.

Understand your renewal and billing date

Your subscription is billed annually and automatically renews on your renewal date.

  1. Sign in to your account and select Subscription Details.

  2. Your renewal date is displayed at the top of the page, in the Plan Details section.

Note: Your renewal price may differ from the current advertised price if you were on an introductory rate, a legacy plan, or a professional membership tier. If you're on a graduate-rate plan, your subscription automatically renews at the standard rate after your first year post-graduation. If your renewal amount looks wrong, contact support to review your account.

Cancel your subscription

  1. Go to Subscription Details in your account.

  2. Click Cancel Renewal at the bottom of the page.

  3. Confirm your cancellation.

Your subscription stays active until the end of your current billing period.

Note: Subscriptions are nonrefundable per our Terms & Conditions. If you cancel, you'll keep access until the end of your billing cycle, but partial refunds aren't issued. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support to review your case.

You can only have one active subscription per email address. If you cancel your subscription but still have access until the end of the billing period, wait until the access ends before subscribing again to avoid conflicts.

Manage users on a team plan

Team plan administrators can add or remove users from the Admin Dashboard.

  • To add users: go to Admin Dashboard → Invite New Users and enter their email addresses to send invitations. Invited users receive an email with setup instructions.

  • To remove a user: go to Admin Dashboard → My Group, find the user, and click the X in the Actions column. Their license becomes available to be assigned to a new team member.

  • If you wish to maintain both a group login and a personal subscription, use a different email address for the personal subscription.

Note: Removing a user does not automatically decrease the number of licenses you pay for upon renewal. To reduce the number of licenses on a team plan, contact support at [email protected]—license reductions require manual adjustment and can't currently be done self-serve.

Institutional and group billing

Organizations with 30 or more users may be eligible for custom billing. Contact our sales team to set up a bulk-licensed account.
